Kelly's Graduation & Family Day

I am just going to start off saying how proud I am of my hubby. Today he graduated from FA BOLC training! It was a very intense 5 month military course in Lawton, OK at Fort Sill and he did it! Go babe!

Since Graduation was at 2pm, we let Kali miss a day of school. We loaded up the van and were on the road ON TIME! We made it to Fort Sill around 11:30 am. We met Kelly at his room - which was freezing! Kali didn't bring her jacket so she put her Dad's on!

Some of us were not amused by Kali wearing the jacket that was 10 sizes to big :) So we loaded up again and headed to Chick-Fil-A with Kelly's friend Sam, to grab some lunch before the ceremony.

After lunch we went back to Kelly's room so he could change into his dress uniform and I could feed Presley, so we didn't have any melt downs during the graduation! But instead of wanting to eat, she wanted to play. She hasn't gotten the concept of holding onto the toy yet, but she has mastered the toy to mouth part!

The girls ready to go watch their dad!

This was right after she found Kelly in the sea of military men on the other side of the room!

I didn't realize that my camera was on the wrong setting so most of my pictures came out dark AND the stupid thing decided to die on me right when Kelly was walking up there...I was so mad!!! But the ceremony was very nice. They showed a movie of different pictures of the guys from the past 5 months...and every time Kali saw Kelly on there she made sure to let me know, lol. Whoever put the movie together did a great job. Then we had a speaker and he was the best...short and to the point, just what I like! After the speaker the Graduates walked across stage and we sang the Army fight song and it was over! The whole thing lasted less than 1 hour! I don't think I've ever been to any military function that was that short!

After Graduation I was able to catch a quick pick with Kelly and some of his buddies from the class. Don't they all look so nice!

And of course one with his girls...we missed having Sara with us so he could be with ALL his girls but Sara you were definitely in our thoughts!!!

We went back to Kelly's room so Kelly and the girls could change their clothes...Presley thought she was just to cool for words!

And since I wasn't able to get a picture of Kelly walking across the stage, Kali brought the program back to the room so I took a picture of his name showing that really he did graduate! lol.

Since Graduation didn't take that long we still had most of the afternoon left to do something so since Medicine Park is just right down the road we decided to drive around there and enjoy the nice day. They had a wildlife refuge park that you drive through and look at the buffalo, long horn cattle and prairie dogs...so the next few pictures are from our adventures at Medicine Park...enjoy!

This was the first buffalo we saw...

This was our drive up the mountain. Kelly is driving and I am sitting in the passenger side...notice what is on my side of the road. The only thing that separates me from the side of the mountain are those boulders. Now if you've ever ridden with Kelly in the car you will know that he doesn't drive in the most straight line most of the time. lol. However, happy to say, I made it to the top and bottom safe and sound! ha ha

And we made it to the top!

Some of us got out to enjoy the view...

And some of us decided sleeping would be better!

This little guy thought he wanted to check us out just as much as we were checking him out...

a little closer....

and closer...

and then he thought we weren't cool enough so he was just going to continue on down the road...now by this time I kept saying, "Kelly he is getting closer, lets go!" "Kelly, he is walking towards the car!" "Kelly. what would you do if he started charging at the van, LET'S GO!" And as you can see who won that little discussion! NOT ME!!! Kali had a blast watching him.

Then these little guys started darting all over the road...Prairie Dogs...too cute!

They were ALL over. I thought for sure we were going to hit one because those little things have no fear...But I am happy to report no prairie dogs were injured during our trip to Medicine Park!

Mr. Buffalo just enjoying the breeze!

Then we came across the Holy City so we decided to go up there and check it out..

Me and the girls!

Some crazy cactus growing on the ground.

Kali next to Jacob's Wishing Well

A cool tree trunk in the shape of a heart.

This is where Kelly wanted to eat dinner. It is called Meers. He has had a lot of people tell him about The Meers Burger and how while he was in Lawton he had to go get one sometime...so we went. You can imagine the thought going through my head pulling up to this place...

I think there was about 4 wild cats hanging around outside the front door, lol!

But check out my soda...it was huge!

The famous Meers Beer. This place defiantly don't skimp out on anything. You will get your money's worth just in the drinks alone!

After dinner we took Kelly back to base and collected our things and headed back to Norman. Poor Presley never got a good nap at all all day so as soon as he got in the car and started going, she was out. Kali slept on the way home also, so it was a very quiet ride back. Wish we could of brought Kelly home with us but the weekend is almost here and he will be home then!!!
