Happy 9th Birthday Kali

The birthday festivities began with Nanny and Papa coming down for the weekend!

So Kali got to open her present from them a day early!

She got an IPod Touch! She was very excited about this!

Don't they look like two peas in a pod!

For Kali's birthday dinner she wanted to go to Logan's to eat so we decided to go the night before because Arkansas was playing on her birthday and daddeo wanted to be home to watch the game! This is the clan waiting for our table. Presley was ok with anyone holding her as long as she had her giraffe to hold on to. lol.

The girls getting their Nanny fix! Kelly told the waiters that we were celebrating Kali's birthday and when the guy asked Kelly what her name was he said K-Dawg the Destroyer...so when they announced that it was her birthday they said K-Dawg the Destroyer...it was hillarious! Kali's face turned bright red...but hey, it wouldn't be a good birthday if your dad didn't do something to embarrass you right!?!?! After dinner Kali went back to the hotel with Nanny and Papa so she could go swimming and stay the night with them.

Saturday morning the birthday girl had a basketball game at what I thought was at 9:50...but come to find out we were a couple hours early. They actually didn't play until 11:30 so since we were all up and moving we decided to go to our favorite place to eat breakfast -- Hasslers -- for Kali's birthday breakfast. And plus she had asked to go there :)

Her game was awesome..nail bitter. Our team is currently undefeated and we played another undefeated team and both teams were amazing. There were some hail mary baskets made, which made us laugh and the Tigers ended up winning the game! We still hold the undefeated title!

After the game we were on to the birthday party at Star Skate!

Time to get our skate on!

Kali and her friend Lorile (from soccer) getting ready to out and show off their moves

Taking an ice cream break!

Birthday girl asked for a cookie cake so Kelly and I picked one up at Wal-mart. We asked the lady in the bakery if she could write on it and I asked to have it written in blue since that is Kali's favorite color. Kelly thought the blue wouldn't match with the sprinkles so the lady started the writing in purple and faded it out into blue...made me laugh. Kali even commented on how she like the way it was written!  ha ha ha. After the Skating Party, we headed back to the house so we could have dinner, watch the game and Kali could open her presents from us.

This was from Presley! Kali got a kick out of the fact that Presley got her something :)

This was her soccer picture that was taken last season that I framed for her. But like I told Kali...Presley picked out the frame :)

Boots from Auntie Annye

Rain Boots from Grandma

A robe from me

And for her last present from Kelly and I since it was to big to wrap and to heavy to move around a lot, we left it outside. It was dark out by this point so Kelly gave her a flashlight and told her that her last present was in the backyard and she had to go find it! Adam and Elizabeth were over so they were all for going on the hunt to find the present!

And she found it!!! She got a basketball hoop!

Telling Adam all about it!

Sunday Nanny and Papa came over to the house so Papa could help Kelly put the Basketball Hoop together...

This is how it started....

And then Nathan shows up and Kelly supervises...lol.

While the boys were putting the basketball hoop together...Presely was hanging with Nanny! So funny, she is content as long as she is facing out. Whatever, as long as she is not screaming, you can hold her however she wants!

Nate had to leave so Kelly had to give up his supervisor position for manual work! Not sure why his head was in the hoop but I have learned to just go with things... Kali looks a little confused as well!

Of course there had to be some sister time in there! Presely LOVES it when Kali talks to her and plays with her. She just thinks her big sister is the coolest thing! I love that Presley gets so excited to see Kali!

The hoop was put up and Kelly, Kali and I played a quick game of HORSE while Presley took a nap! It made me think back to when my dad and I would play HORSE or just shoot around on our basketball hoop when I was growing up. Best times ever!

So happy birthday Kali! I hope you had an fun weekend and liked all your gifts. I can't believe you were in Kindergarden when your dad and I got together and now you are in 3rd grade. We have had our ups and downs but you are a good kid. I love the fact that I get to watch you grow up and take care of you. You are such a huge help to me with Presley and are a great big sister. I love you!
