Hanging out with the Pate's

Saturday evening Freeman and Amanda and their cute little girl Hailey came over to hang out for a bit. They got a hotel room in town and it was so nice to visit with them. Kelly and Freeman hung outside together, while Amanda and I could sit around and catch up.

Sunday we went to breakfast at Hasslers (of course) and then came back to the house and played outside. The Dad's and Kali played a couple games of H.O.R.S.E, while Amanda and I watched Hailey and Presley run, or in Presley's case, crawl, around.

Pretty girl!

Yes, that would be a giant bouncy ball and a rosary in her hands :)

Kali schoolin the boys on how to play

Takin a little break to stop and smell the roses...ok maybe more like stop and eat some grass :)

Freeman was actually putting the hurt on Kelly. I love watching these guys and their friendly competition.

Rosary in tow, she was on the move. Bubka would be so proud. Guess it is time for her nun name now. Mine growing up was Sister Mary Elizathorn. Gotta love a catholic family.

And this ladies and gentleman is my sweet, lovable, darling little princess...can't you tell? I think this is one of my favorite pictures of her, lol :)

Miss Hailey was showing Presley how bounce on the ball :) I wish I had half the energy this little girl has.

Yes I think she has things a little backwards...she has the rosary in her mouth instead of her bottle...stubborn like her daddy. I tried telling her that she wasn't going to get anything by sucking on her rosary but she had to figure it out on her own.

K-Dawg

She thought she was so funny that she got herself up on the basketball goal. What a goof ball...

And here comes her partner in crime...

I love her sticking out her belly here. Like she is in charge! She loved playing with Hailey and watching her run around.

10 Months

Well Miss Presley, you are 10 months now...I can't believe it. You are getting harder and harder to take your monthly picture. You are constantly on the go. I love that, until I want to take your picture, then I want you to sit still :)

* You are still in a size 3 diaper
* You have four teeth now and there are two more on the top that are about to pop through
* I have no idea what size shoe you were because you won't keep them on long enough to see which ones fit.
* You are wearing 12 month size clothes
* You are a very good eater. I haven't found anything yet that you will not eat
* You don't like to be fed anymore, YOU have to feed yourself
* You are still waking up a couple times throughout the night, but I keep my fingers crossed that one of these nights soon you will sleep all the way through
* You are starting to walk. You will take steps here and then but nothing constant. I am hoping that by your 1st birthday you will be walking full time
* You are talking all the time. Most of it is still babble talk but sometimes it really does sound like a word
* You love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, The Backyardigans, Wonder Pets and Dora the Explorer
* You are starting to give kisses here and there
* You love crawling and laying on Bridget and Sadi
* You hair is getting long enough to put a small pony tail in with a bow, however, as soon as I put it in you take it out.
* You won't leave a headband in your hair anymore

Last Soccer Game and Braums

Kali had her last soccer game of the spring season today and they lost 6-4 :( But she played really hard and scored two of the 4 goals...I would say that was an ok way to go out! Coach Jackson gave all the girls these medals after the game and told them to meet him at Braums later on in the afternoon for a treat and another surprise!!!

So proud of her medal!

Crazy girls with their ice cream cones.

Kali receiving her other surprise from her coach. He had a soccer ball on a stand. It was a cute little trophy with each of the girls names on it and the team name.

Kali and Reece showing off their trophies :) Way to go girls, y'all did awesome this season!

And of course it wouldn't be complete without a pic with little sister!

School Social and Soccer Game

Kali's school was having their school social this sat that she kept and kept and kept and kept asking if she could go...did I mention she kept asking if she could go. We are working with her on that...her obsessions with things, lol.

And she's off!!! I think she played every game, and won every small toy in the book. She kept bringing handfuls up to Kelly to hold and his pockets were starting hit their max.

Look who we saw while we were there....Our neighbor Adam! He is so funny around Presley. Every time he sees her, he always say, "This baby thinks I'm funny" lol.

What's a school social without some cotton candy?

After the social we headed out to the soccer fields for Kali's game. I sent this picture to Annye and she wrote me back saying she looked like a little Chinese woman. lol. Now if I have any little Chinese readers, please don't take offense to that, it was just an observation. If anything, y'all are cute :) Kali was a beast out on the field and scored all 4 goals for the team and they won!!! Way to go K-Dwag.

Kali's First Volleyball Game

Kali didn't want to play softball this spring (I tried really hard to convince her to play cause I love spending nights at the ball field and I enjoy watching her play) because it was to slow for her liking. Now since I've said that, she asked if she could do volleyball. I don't think she realized that it was along the same lines as softball as being a little slower pace but she hasn't played before so at least I thought she would get the experience and see if whether or not she liked it. So I signed her up! Now I hadn't heard from her coach and I knew the start of the season was coming up so I finally called Parks and Rec and asked what the deal was and so they gave me the number to her coach. Long story short, either the coaches skimmed over her name or they added her late, anyhoo, she was on a team. Now with all the confusion of whether or not she was on a team she missed a practice so by the time I got in contact with her coach they had 2 games the following day. Can you imagine what her reaction was when I told her that she was starting Volleyball tomorrow, oh and by the way you have 2 games. Oh yeah and you play with 5 graders...lol. Talk about a deer in headlights.

Warming up for her very first volleyball game....EVER!

She is hard to see but Kali is the tiny little thing all the way at the end of the first row closest to the bench. She is a good foot shorter than all the girls. I don't know why but they combine 3-5 graders. Along with Kali there are 3 other 3rd graders and 7 5 graders.

Through the whole game this is pretty much all she did. She got a free card that night because she has never done it before, but her dad and I both told her to loosen up and attempt to go for the ball and she would enjoy it a little more.

For it being her first game, she is very well. She got her serves over the net, and made 2 points for her team. I think that helped with the confidence a little :)

The Spikers (cute team name huh?) ended up winning on their first night playing with each other. After the game I asked what she thought of it, and she said it was ok. She said she wanted to see what a practice was like before she said for sure whether or not she liked it.

Sisterly Love

The girls watching the tv together. I don't know which is sweeter...the fact that Presley loves to be with her big sister or the fact that Kali spends a lot of time with Presley and lets her be around her. Which ever it is, I absolutely love it!!!

Tornado Fun!

Guess what time of year it is......TORNADO!!!! Kelly had drill this weekend and while we was away, we were under a tornado warning all weekend.

The girls and I hung out in the closet for about 30 mins Friday night while the tornado sirens were going off. Kali was a little nervous but I don't think she wanted me to know cause she put on a pretty brave face. Presley on the other hand was a hot mess. She didn't want to sit down, she wanted Kali to hold her, but Kali was tired of her pulling her hair (which I can't really blame her), so needless to say this tornado just needed to do what it came to do and leave so I could get my child out of the closet so my other child wasn't annoyed anymore, lol.

What do you do while you sit in the closet and wait for the storms to stop....eat Ramen Noodles! Don't you do that? We luckily didn't have any damage at our house but across town people lost power and there were quite a few houses and apartment complexes that lost their roofs.

Farkle and Ramen Noodles

Tryin out Kali's new game, Farkle that she got from the Easter Bunny. I think they both enjoyed themselves :)

While those two were playing their game, Presley and I were enjoying a bowl of Ramen Noodles. It was her first time having them and I think she really like them...

Miss Hollywood

She had to bring her hippo down to the bus stop with us to pick Kali up. It cracks me up that she will leave her sunglasses on the whole time she is outside. She is very fashionable :)

Easter 2012

Bright and early we were up on the hunt for some Eggs!

Even Presley got in on the action

This cracks me up only because she kept telling us that she couldn't find anymore eggs (she had 3 left to find). In the note from the Easter Bunny, he said that he hid Kali's 6 eggs up high and Presley's were low. So we kept reminding her what he said, without giving it away. Look at where the egg is in this picture and look where she is looking! Now I didn't say listening was her strongest suit, lol. What a knucklehead :)

A not-all-the-way-awake-dad :)

Still had not found the egg on top of the mantel! She needed a break.

This pic is horrible, but look what she found!!! lol...after she saw it, she gave up one of those looks like, "are you kidding me!"

Presley found all her eggs. She would find one, spin around in a circle waving it in the air and then slam it on the floor. I think Kali was even impressed that Presley was really on a "hunt" for her eggs, lol.

Presley's Easter basket from the Easter Bunny. She got a sippy cup, some containers for her to tote around her puffs in, some hair bows and since she is to young for chocolate, he left her some Gerber graduate fruit packets, and of course this cute little hippo.

Kali's Easter Basket has of course a TON of candy, the games Farkle and Rummycube, a picture frame, some coloring stuff, a watch and a cool little sleeping mask.
