8 Months Old!!!!!

Miss Presley, now that you are 8 months old your personality is really starting to show. You are the sweetest little girl. You always have a smile on your face unless you are really hungry or really tired...you get that from me!

*You are still on breast milk
*You have stopped eating baby food on your own and strictly want big people food (I blame your dad for this! He is always wanting you to "try" what he has...who would want bland baby food after you have had the taste of a pickle!? You're not a stupid baby!)
*You are wearing size 12 month clothes...you need the length in the legs and arms..shirts kinda hang on you a little big, but it is either that or put you in high waters :)
*You are still not sleeping through the night. You usually get up once in the middle of the night (between 2-4ish am)
*You are in this fun stage where you HATE to ride in your carseat. As soon as I put you in there, you start screaming
*You are crawling like a storm. Usually you are only in your room crawling since that room has carpet and you still aren't to steady on your little legs and I really don't want you falling on the concrete in the rest of the house.
*You are wearing a size 3 diaper
*Shoe size is a 3 as well, however everytime I put a pair on you, in no time you have kicked them off. So since the weather is getting warmer, very rarely do you actually wear shoes
*You are saying Mama and Dadda...however I swear every once in a while I hear "I did it"
*You are miss independent. You want to feed yourself food, you want to explore on your own, and you want to pull the books out and read them to me (instead of the other way around)

I love watching you find and do new things every day...keep it up kiddo!

Presley's New Bed

It arrived!!! I ordered her bed from Walmart and it is a 4-1 convertable bed so it will grow with her! I had a hard time decided between the white and dark brown, but now that I have it and it is set up in her room, I LOVE the white! Plus. whenever we are in a house where I am able to decorate her room, the colors are going to be white, gray and pink so the crib will match :)

I think she loves it!

She looks so tiny in this big thing..lol. Can't wait to see how she sleeps in it tonight!

Side note: I put the crib together all by myself! Dad wanted to wait till Presley went to sleep but I didn't have any patience so I just did it all on my own. Pretty proud of myself I might add!!!!

Kali's Soccer Practice

While Kali had soccer practice (she is on the left hand side in the green hoodie), Presley and I sat in the car cause it was a little to chilly for little sis to sit out in an open field.

So we sat and watched Kali work on her shooting skills...

And dribbling....

Presley practiced her driving skills....

and how to chew on a plastic water bottle....

And last but not least perfecting her "daddy face". Look familiar anyone???? :)

Hanging with Payton

This cute little cuddle bug came and hung out with me and the girls this afternoon/evening while his mom and dad went to the Thunder game. Sabrina and I worked together at the vet clinic and were pregnant together (so NOT planned)! He is two months younger than Presley.

It was so nice this afternoon so I took all the kids outside to play around in the driveway. Figured a little fresh air never hurt anyone....

Kali wrote out everyone in her family all over the driveway :)

Presley took off in the walker.

Our outting outside didn't last long. Presely wanted to be held, but I was holding Payton...Payton wanted down but he doesn't sit up by himself yet...so I figured it would be easier to just go play in Presely's room..

And it was cause Presley got her attention that she was missing out on.

Later that evening Kali had basketball practice so I loaded up all the kids and we headed to practice. You should of seen the looks I was getting carrying a carrier, pushing a stroller with another baby in that and holding onto Kali's stuff. I had one mom ask me if I had twins! Ha ha ha..she said she always saw me with the little girl and didn't know I had a boy as well. I told her I would love to take him but he isn't mine...But I would take him anytime :)

Sick Baby

For the past couple days, Presley has been fussy, runny nose, not eating well, not sleeping well and just not acting like herself. So after waking up and noticing she was having some green discharge from her right eye I thought maybe we should have her looked at just in case she needed some antibiotics. So when I called to make her an appointment I could get in the next day...

Of course, just like when you take your car to the machanic, the discharge in her eye was gone and she seems a little better. I thought about cancelling, but decided to go ahead and take her just on the off chance that she got worse, at least she would of been seen then.

I was able to see how much she is weighing these days...she is tippin the scales at 15 pounds, lol. Dr. M. checked her out and said her ears looked good, she sounded good and that she probably just had a cold. No meds and we were free to go. Yay!

Valentines Day 2012

Happy Valentines Day Y'all :) Can I just start off and say how much I love my little family. Every single one of them is so sweet and thoughtful!

These amazing, wonderful and ooohhh sooo good chocolate covered strawberries were from my thoughtful hubby :) He surprised me! I was completely not expecting it. He ordered them and had them shipped to the house...they actually came a day early, but who cares. It was the thought that counts and hello they are CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES :) Kelly also sent Sara and Kali strawberries to their schools...I thought that was so sweet of him.

and from my sweet daughter.....
She made Kelly and I both Valentine's Day cards herself! The best kind. (mine is on the right and Kelly's is on the left...just sayin!)

She wrote us a sweet note inside to each one of us

And then added some extra personal touches on the back...My picture was of two people holding a heart..she said it was her dad and me, lol.

I was going to go to Kali's school and go to her Valentine's Day party in her classroom but Presley decided she wasn't going to cooperate and I didn't want to bring a fussy baby to a classroom full of little kids. I think we are about to cut some teeth because NOTHING makes her happy, lol. I love ya in all kid but come on..throw mom a bone already!

But then she looks like this and everything is ok!

When Daddy came home from school he had stopped and picked Presley up her Valentine's Day present. He got her this adorable little stuffed pig..she loves it! I know you can't tell in this picture, cause Presley is looking down, but seriously the pig and her both have the same size eyeballs, lol!

Can we just take a min and look at how cute this QUITE sleeping princess is! People who don't sleep with their kids are truly missing out I think.

To be able to wake up and see, kiss, snuggle and stare at this punkin to the best thing in the whole world. I completely understand how people have big families...I could easily be one of those people :)

And then I looked outside and saw the yucky snow...It wasn't one of those really pretty snow falls. Ya know where there is 2 inches (or more), solid white and EVERYTHING is covered in it. Ya know the one where you don't want to let the dogs out to mess up how pretty it looks...this was the completely OPPOSITE. It was just enough snow to make the ground muddy, it was cold out and it made the roads messy enough to where people were driving like they were driving in 5 inches of snow with a sheet of ice under it. Drives me crazy!!!!

But I guess we can say that we had snow this winter!

Bath Toys & Snow

Presley got these cute little floating turtles at my Baby Shower and now that she can sit up and I don't have to worry about her falling back, I thought we should bring them out! She loves them.

See... told ya! Actually Kali was sitting next to me talking to her and playing with her, so of course that was the best thing ever.

annnnddd of course they go to the mouth!

All ready for bed with her Elmo pjs on.

We were hearing all evening that we were supposed to get some snow and ice overnight and driving conditions were going to be pretty slick. After the Kali went to bed (because lord knows Presley won't go to bed before 10 pm!) we saw that it was starting to snow. So guess who was hoping for a snow day...Dad!!! He opened the blinds and turned the light on the back patio watching the snow come down while he watched for updates on his phone. The funny part of the whole night was schools around us were already cancelling school for tomorrow before anything was happening. Unfortunately Kali still had school and Kelly's morning class was cancelled but he had the rest of his classes throughout the day. And since I am taking online classes, I didn't have a snow day either ;)

Play Time

We had a nice quiet evening after Kali got home from school. We played in Presley's room for a little bit before I had to start dinner. I know I've said it before, but I will say it again, Presley just adores her big sister. No matter what Kali was doing, Presley's eyes were always on her, wanting whatever she had in her hands or just wanted to climb all over her. These two are so much fun to watch together.

This toy was from Aunt Gwen, that used to belong to Garrett and Gina and now was passed on to Presley...she LOVES it. It is a little car toy. When you turn the key on it sings songs and whenever you turn the steering wheel it will play the alphabet song or other cute little tones...she will always go straight to this toy as soon as I put her down in her room. Thanks Aunt Gwen!!! It is a hit!

She was on a mission! One of the cats were in the room with us and she would not stop tormenting that poor thing. I think the stupid cat likes it because the door was open the whole time and never once did she try to leave. This is usaully the cute little smile I get when she is getting into something and she thinks that by keeping her eyes on me I won't notice what her other hand is doing....WRONG! LOL.

Sorry kitty...but you don't blend in well!

Kali was working on her juggling skills...first she would try two blocks, then two balls, then three blocks. She finally decided to stick with the two blocks and master that first.

Basketball and Sleep Over

Kelly had drill this weekend which meant it was a girls weekend here at the house. It was a busy but laid back weekend...if that makes any sense. First on the list of things to do was Kali's basketball game...

Kinda hard to see but Kali is number 40. She is the one with her back towards me in the middle. They played hard and had good passes but unfortunately they didn't win.

She looks so big in this picture to me. It seems like over night she has sprouted up and is extra tall these days. But these girls that she was playing against were a good head taller than her. That is what killed them. Anytime they tried to pass the ball the other girls could just reach up and grab it :(

Number 3 on the other team was the shortest one...most of them were the size of the other girl on the other side of Kali.

When we got home it was time to clean out Kali's room. She has a bad habit of collecting things (to put it mildly) :) We went through all her book and took out all the "baby" books she had. She is reading chapter books now so there is no reason to have the other books taking up space in her desk. We put all the coloring things together, notebooks together (which we counted and she has more than 10!!!) all different sizes! Went through all her stuff animals that were taking over her bed. I was very proud of her, she went through everything and had no problems throwing stuff away. She had 3 different posters with the kids names on it in her class...she threw away 2 of them and kept 1! I told her that once a month we will have to go through and do a deep cleaning in there because she collects stuff all the time. Since she did such a good job cleaning out her room she had Elizabeth stay the night....

They put on a puppet show! They took a pair of Kali's white socks and made them into sock puppets. This was the program Kali gave me for the puppet show.

This is Stripey and Little Girl....

I really couldn't tell you what the point of the story was cause there was just a bunch of roaring and screaming! But I do know that it took place in the woods :)

They put on a good show :)

Kali with her creation!

and Elizabeth with hers :)

This weekend Kelly had a Dinning Out Military Dinner to go to Saturday night. Because I don't really care to go to those things for a couple of reasons...first off, having to find a dress, get dressed up to go to these things seriously stresses me out. Since having Presley my since of style has seriously vanished. No joke! That is one of the reasons why I always wear something comfy. Second, the dinner was in Fort Smith which means..you guessed it, having to pack everyone up. And by everyone that includes the dogs and having to board them. What a pain! So long story short, the easiest thing was for me to stay home with the kids and take Kali to her game and Kelly invited Gwen to be his date. Which actually worked out perfectly because it is Kendall and Gwen's anniversary weekend and since Kendall is still out of town, Kelly was able to take Gwen out! So all in all it was a good night!
