7 Months Old!

These days you are.....
* Wearing a size 2 diaper
* Eating baby food and big people food. Your dad wants to give you ice cream all the time and everything else that you aren't supposed to get yet.  But you are a very good eater. You love fruits, veggies and meats!
* You are still not sleeping through the night. Usually you get up once or twice and after the first time I just bring you into bed with us. Maybe if you room wasn't at the other end of the house I would be more firmer about you sleeping in your own bed. But hey, you start out there. And every night I think to myself, "maybe tonight!" and nope!
* You aren't saying any real words yet, however, No No is at the tip of your tounge.
* You are somewhat crawling. You three little steps (I guess you call it that) at Bubka and Grandpa's house but that is it. You will get up on your hands and knees and rock back and forth and then fall on your belly.
* You are a crazy lady in that walker. You are all over the place. You have figured out how to go forwards, backwards and manuver that thing all over the place.
* You are still a breastfed baby
* You are wearing pretty much 12 month clothes. Definatly 12 months in sleepers. Some onesies you can get away with a 9 month but it is getting kinda snug.
* You LOVE your big sister. You and Kali will go in your room and play together while I do stuff around the house and neither one of you throw a fit about it.
* You are slowly starting to use a sippy cup. Haven't really figured out the concept of tilting it up, but you mostly just play with it.
* You are an awesome baby to take out in public. You are soooo good.
* You are getting more hair. Not enough to pull up in a rubberband yet, but hopefully soon.
* No teeth yet.
* You are still a momma's girl, however you are starting to warm up to Daddy quite a bit
* You love watching Dora or any cartoon for that matter.
* You still love football.
* Changing your diaper is starting to get a little more challenging. You are twisting and moving all over the place.

You are 7 months old and I can't believe it. Stop growing up so fast...ok!!!!

The Babee Tenda

Let me introduce you to the famous Babee Tenda! This thing has been in my family for almost 60 years. It started off as Auntie Moosie's, and then has gone down the line from there. Basically it is a table with a whole cut out in the middle and a seat, lol.

Since Presley and I went to Rogers for the weekend because Andrea was having her baby shower on Sunday, mom got the babee tenda out for Presley. She loved it! She kept banging her hands on the table and making all kinds of noise. Pretty cool to see that thing again.

Surgery Day!!!!

Today is the day!!! Kelly finally gets to have his hernias (which happened right before Presley was born) repaired. His surgery was scheduled for 3:15 pm but the hospital called him earlier and asked if he would like to have it done sooner...like NOW! I had fallen asleep on the couch with Presley and Kelly woke me up and asked me if we should do it now or keep it at the scheduled time. I told him lets go and get this over with. Kali was at school and this way we wouldn't have to take her out early. So while Kelly was getting ready I was packing up my bag for Presley. I had no idea how long surgery would be or how long we would be up there and I wanted to be prepared for anything. I took a bottle of milk, the WHOLE container of juice, extra change of clothes (cause you just never know :)), toys, toys and more toys!

We arrived at the Oklahoma Center for Orthopaedic & Multi-Specialty Surgery, LLC at 11:30 am.

Kelly had to fill out some paperwork...

This was stating should something happen, I leave all my millions to my wonderful wife :) Yeah right...about the millions, I really am a wonderful wife!

Once he got all his paperwork filled out, we had a short wait and then they called us back. Kelly had to get dressed into this awesome get up! It even included knee highs! The nurses said it was for circulation in his legs....I really think they just like seeing grown men in them, lol.

I mean come on...is that not one sexy beast!

All changed - check, IV in and started - check, Talk to the dr - check...now we wait to be wheeled back to the O.R..oh but before he goes, he must catch up on Facebook. I did read later on that he put a status up about heading back to surgery and should something happen he leave me all his debt! He is so thoughtful.

While Kelly was back in surgery (suppose to take about a hour and fifteen minuets) Presley was playing on the floor on her little "play area" I made her. Nanny and Papa showed up at the hospital and got some play time in with her as well! She was so good through the whole thing. I was very proud of her.

Doctor Greenway came out and told me everything went wonderful and Kelly did great! Apparently there are four types of hernias you can get and Kelly had 3 of the 4 types. I am waiting for him to go to his check up so I can find out more about what he meant. No lifting anything over 15 pounds for 4 weeks...good thing Presley is weighing in at 13!!! Goes back to see Dr. Greenway in two weeks for a post-op check.

After he spent some time in recovery and was feeling up to leaving, we were able to load him up the car and head home. Papa left early to pick Kali up from school and Nanny stayed at the hospital with me to help me get Presley and Kelly home. Thank goodness she was there! She took Presley for me while I helped Kelly get dressed and all of his things collected. We stopped at Long John Silvers on the way home because Kelly was STARVING. Presley was taking her nap so I figured it was also a good time to make a quick stop at the hotel and get Nanny and Papa checked in.

When we finally got home, Kelly got settled in on the couch. Most of the night he sat up and watched tv with us and was in good spirits. He was taking his pain medicine like he was supposed to and even put the ice on his belly like they said he should.

This is what his belly looked like later on that evening. The nurses even cut our heart shapes our of his gauze for valentines day! That or they thought he was cute :) He did wonderful! I can't wait to see how he feels after he is all healed up. Hopefully he can get some major relief and go back to doing all the normal activities he was used to, like running and being more active.

Day Before Surgery

Tomorrow Kelly is having his hernias repaired! Yes, the day has FINALLY come to where we can get this fixed and move on with our life. I don't know who is more excited....Kelly for actually getting some thing done to were he won't be in pain any more, or me...so that I don't get these random screams of pain in the middle of the night that wake me up! However I think his shoulder also contributes to that but that is a whole other post! Anyhoo...surgery is scheduled for 3:15 pm and Nanny and Papa are going to come down for the weekend and take care of him while I head off to Rogers with Presley and go to Andrea's baby shower. Thanks Nanny and Papa for helping me out!! Y'all are great!

Baby and Her Crack

Tonight after dinner Kali asked Kelly to take her to Braums so she could get some ice cream. She even offered to buy us all ice cream...pretty sweet huh!?!?! So while I stayed home with the little one, they were off to get their desserts. Kali came home with this huge banana split and Kelly had one of his concoctions which I believe was butter pecan ice cream, butterscotch and carmel malt. Not my fave but whatever....

So guess who wanted to try a bit. Kelly gave her a small taste and she turned into physco baby...

she seriously could not get it out of the straw fast enough. And when Kelly would try and put some in her mouth, she would flail her arms around so fast and grunt. It was hilarious.

Kali thought it was pretty funny that she was getting so crazy over ice cream.

she was watching Kali put the cup on the counter...seriously she would not take her eyes off of it. I told her if she kept that up she would need an ice cream intervention. However, I better keep my mouth shut, otherwise Kelly will have a diet coke intervention for me. That could be a whole other post on itself. That is my crack!

Hell On Wheels

Presley you are 5 days from being 7 months old and you have mastered the walker :)

I put you in it and you are off to explore.

I was in the living room folding laundry and this is where I found you after I went and put some clothes away in my room. You were in your sisters room trying to pick up the bag of diapers she has for her baby doll. You are into everything!

You will wheel yourself up close to the tv if there is a cartoon on. You in fact go so fast that you run into the cable box and surround sound box under the tv, hence the baby gate now. That just went up today! And so the baby proofing begins!

Presley, you make me laugh on a daily basis. When I call your name and you give me this look like, "what mom, I don't know what you are talking about." it makes me want to squeeze you (in a good way!). I can't believe that you are almost 7 months old and you are turning into such a big girl. You are becoming WAY to independent WAY to fast, but deep down, I love it. I love watching you do new things and turn into the little person who can almost talk to me.

Presley's First Fall

Let me start this by saying that I have been really good about putting Presley back in her bed after she gets up in the middle of the night and I get her back to sleep. But the past few days we have been teething (I'm pretty sure!) because she can't stay sleeping for any decent amount of time, she is clingy and just wants to nurse. So having to get up to a crying baby every 30 mins gets tiring, so I just bring her to bed with me. Makes the whole situation a little more manageable.

So yes, Presley fell out of our bed for the first time this morning. As soon as I heard her hit the floor I jumped up and scooped her up and held back my tears so I could get her to calm down. The blood curdling scream was enough to make me feel like a horrible mom. Then Kelly asked me to look at her right arm cause she was holding it funny..."OMG I broke my child's arm," that is the first thing I thought...then it went to "How am I going to explain this to the ER nurses when I take her in there?" but then she start waving it around and as soon as I took her into my bathroom where she could look at herself she started to smile.

Long story short, no broken bones, no goose egg on the head, no bloody nose or bloody lip...so we chalk it up to her first of many many many falls.

First Day of School for Momma

That's right, I am going back to school. After having Presley I figured I needed to finish a degree...so I decided to go back to school for Nursing. I am taking all online classes right now through Carl Albert and that way I can be doing something while I am home with Presley. This semester I am taking History, English, Health and Biology.

My first assignment in my History class...just a student introduction, but still my first assignment :)

someone was wanting to play..

I seriously could sit and just look at her all day...do they have a class for that???

She had just got up from her nap and I was putting her in her walker so I could work on some homework and of all days to starts getting into stuff, ha ha.....

That's right everyone, she has figured out that if she pulls on the bag hard enough, the WHOLE thing falls over...fun huh!?!?! So needless to say, that didn't last long!

So then it was on my lap and of course since I was using a pen, she wanted one...it kept her occupied for a while so we just went with it.

Kali came home early from school today with an upset stomach. She said she ate to fast at lunch. So once she got home and laid down for a little bit, she was back to normal. Good thing because she had basketball practice tonight.

Presley and I hung out on the sideline during practice. As long as she had her honeycomb she was a happy kid.

The girls practiced with another team tonight (the team that beat them for the championship actually) so that is why there are so many. Working on their drills :)

Presley had to voice her opinion and tell Kali to hustle.

After practice, it was home for showers and bedtime. I had an assignment in History due at midnight and of course Presley decided she didn't want to go to sleep as easy as she normally does. So after about an hour of waking up and then going back to sleep and waking up again....10:30 she is finally out. I was able to get my homework emailed and now it is time for bed.

MLK Day!

Today Kelly and Kali were out of school because it is Martin Luther King Day. So we all slept in! Well Kelly and Kali slept in. Miss Presley was up at the stroke of 8, so I started my day with cartoons :)

Again it was BEAUTIFUL outside. I think it actually got up into the 70's today, and for it being the middle of January, I will take it! I am so much of a warmer weather girl. Kelly and Kali went for a nice long walk today and Presley and I stayed home so she could nap and I could start cleaning out the garage. It is something I have been wanting done since before Presley was born and it kept getting put on the back burner. Most of it was Kelly's stuff so I couldn't just go and throw it away, and he has been busy with military and then school but we FINALLY were able to start on it....

I brought the walker outside and Presley was just having a blast rolling around all over the place. She did very good...she stayed by me and didn't venture too far.

She even brought her sippy cup with her. Ya know all that walking around can make a girl thirsty :)

Once Kelly and Kali got back from their walk he started going through everything. I was so happy that he was finally going through all this stuff that I had to take a picture of him doing it :)

I have no idea why both of them have goofy faces...they must of planned that!

Kali and Adam were playing at the end of the driveway so guess who had to go be a part of it.....(I wish I would of videotaped it because she seriously was off to be a part of what the big kids were doing)

And she made it down to the street. She was laughing so hard at Kali and Adam..she thought those two were the funniest.

Adam is such a good kid with her. Every time he comes to see if Kali can play he always asks, "Can Baby talk at all yet." He is such a cute kid.

Once Presley and I made our way back to the garage to help Kelly, Kali and Adam played with the soccer ball for a little bit...

Then went over to Adam's yard and were twirling in circles. Goofy kids :)

And ladies and gentleman, here is the finished product! I still want to go back tomorrow and organize it a little better...but there aren't boxes and boxes of trash just sitting in there. Oh I love it!

Once we were done in the garage I started making dinner. We had BBQ Pork Steaks, Potatoes and Green Beans. While I was out cooking on the grill, Kali babysat Presley for me. She took her into Presley's/Sara's room and played with her toys with her. I saw them through the window. It was so cute. Presley loves spending time with her big sister.

After dinner it was time for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills so us girls hung out and chilled in my room while Kelly watched the debate in the living room. Presley was being extra wiggly and wanting to move around all over the place tonight. Kali was trying to entertain her, but it wasn't working. ha ha.

Now that the kids are in bed, the kitchen is cleaned up and most importantly MY GARAGE IS CLEAN...I can sleep a happy momma tonight :) Thanks Kelly for making me so happy and making us not be the white trash neighbors anymore :) Love you babe!!!!

Weekend Fun

Friday night Presley got some Daddy time in before bed.

Someone was getting a bit fed up with playing around and wanted to eat and then hit the sack! (knock on wood), she really is an easy baby when it comes to bedtime. Feed her, change her and then walk around with her for about 3 mins...and she is out.

Saturday we had a pretty uneventful day around the Lynn House. It was gorgeous outside so I made Kali go on my walk/run with me. She rode her bike while I pushed Presley in the stroller. Presley was going to stay home with Dad while Kali and I went but she started getting fussy so I decided to take her along and get her some fresh air also. After we got back, I did some laundry and relaxed. Kali went outside and played with Adam for a while. Here lately their thing has been tying Kali's jump ropes in the trees. Not really sure about it, but whatever :)

That night Daddeo was watching football, so guess who was all about it. Tim Tebow was playing Tom Brady. Unfortunately Tebow didn't win, so we ended up watching the tail end of the Miss America Pageant. I have never been a Pageant person...never any interest to watch it. Personally I kinda giggle at all the girls when they have to answer their question from the judges..always smiling..just seems so fake to me. Miss Oklahoma and Miss Wisconsin were the final two and Miss Wisconsin ended up taking it home :) Gwen and I were texting back and forth about how next year she was going to have a Miss America Party and send Kendall and the boys to our house to hang with Kelly and watch the playoffs. I joked that that was unfair that we don't have a boy that could stay with Kelly...he gets a kid free weekend. Good think I love having my girls around me :) However, God, if you are listening...it would be fun to mix it up a little...just saying.

I have figured out Presley's eating schedule...only took me 2 months to get it but hey, I'm a first time mom. So here it is...she will eat 1/2 container of fruit in the mornings, for lunch it is 1 container for a meat (chicken noodle or turkey & rice), and for dinner (which is around 9:45 pm) we do either oatmeal or rice with a  veggie. Sat night she had rice and zucchini. She loved it! (again knock on wood) but she is only getting up once in the middle of the night. Who knows if it is because of the food or she is just growing up. But whatever, it is working so we will continue.

After I put Presley to bed...Kelly, Kali and myself played a quick game of Scrabble. It was a card game she got for Christmas. Pretty fun. You start out with a four letter word and then basically anyone can change the word anytime, and the first one to run out of cards, wins. I won the first hand...thank you thank you :)

Tonight, after dinner and Presley went to bed, Kali asked if we would play In A Pickle with her, so we had another game night. It was fun...I especially like the fact that my answers were driving Kelly crazy. Payback baby!

I could see it being a game that gets some couples divorced. Lets just say that Kelly and I will NEVER play this game together if alchol is involved. However it would be a fun drinking game :) He even talked about having to take it to Kendall and Gwen's the next time we went there. I agree! Those two are fun to play games with.

The object of the game is to get 4 stacks of cards in front of you. We each had two stacks....

Three stacks.....and the winner is........

Yes he won! Doesn't he look pleased :) Now that the game is over, Presley is sleeping, Kali is in bed and Kelly is out in the living room watching tv, I am going to hit the sack.
